Sofia and Shane were married November 5th at St. Mary’s Assumption Church. It was actually the first time I’ve been in that church and it was magnificent! It really reminded me of all the cathedrals in Europe. Vanessa and I were standing in there looking the the ceiling and all around with our mouths open. :) Simply gorgeous…as was Miss Sofia! Sofia actually had some alterations done to her mother’s dress and wore it for the wedding. I was so amazed at how beautiful it was! It was absolutely perfect on her! And you could tell that her mother was so proud. Her mom recently shared photos with me of herself in the dress the first time it was worn. I’ll be sharing those with you sometime soon in a separate blog post because it’s that special that it deserves a post dedicated to just that!
Sofia also kept reminding me of Anne Hathaway. I felt like I was photographing one of the Princess Diaries movies. She especially looked like Hathaway the evening of their rehearsal. The resemblance was uncanny. The day was very fairy tale like with her beautiful heirloom dress, the awesome Christian Louboutin shoes, and of course let’s not forget her dashing groom, Shane. Shane was a little bit nervous the day of the wedding. And I knew from the engagement photos that pictures aren’t his favorite thing, but at least he had a familiar face around for the wedding day photos. When we took them to meet each other for the First Look he was very nervous — and even though we gave him a run down of what was about to happen, he still got a sneak peek in before he was supposed to. Poor guy, we all yelled, “No!!!!” when he tried to turn around a few seconds too soon. It was great reliving these in-between moments with them as they watched their day unfold in front of them at the studio last night. The other part of the day that I’m pretty sure had to be one of the best groom moments ever happened just a few minutes into the First Look. They had hugged, Sofia was trying not to cry, and then it got to the part where they get to check each other out. Sofia stepped back and did a little half twist, and Shane said, “Oh wow, look at your head gear!” I LOVE it Shane!! That was awesome! In all honesty though, he truly loved her veil. He was still talking about it last night. He was so precious while watching their photos; he kept telling Sofia how beautiful she looked throughout the day. Awww! Doesn’t it just melt your heart? They’re adorable!
Thanks to both of you for letting us share your day with you! Looking forward to capturing other milestones in your life. Enjoy!
