Boudoir

MADEMOISELLE L’S BOUDOIR SESSION
Arte by Doug

This post is from my very first session, and I’m really happy with how it came out. CheyAnne and I do all the sessions together, which we think works out great because she sees things from the soft, sensual side of a female, and I can offer more of the view from what the guy will like. And when you really think about it, a majority of the time the end consumer of a boudoir shoot is a guy. One of the things I really enjoy the most about boudoir shoots is how much I get to play with lighting. While I did a lot of the posing on this shoot, I like to try and leave most of that to CheyAnne so I can work my magic with the lighting. Because of time constraints on the wedding day, we generally only get to use one, sometimes two lights, whereas on the boudoir shoot I can easily use up to four or five and really sculpt the light and create some beautiful images. Not to mention, I can’t think of any other type of portrait shoot that really requires skillful lighting other than boudoir. With proper lighting you can literally add or subtract weight anywhere on the body. Well, enough of all the technical stuff. Let’s see the final product!

Mademoiselle L was one of my recent brides and, after watching the movie Burlesque, she called and was so excited about her idea of doing a burlesque themed boudoir shoot! Here it is!

In Aimee’s bridal session post I talked about how bubbly she always is.  As a result of her personality, Aimee was worried about the boudoir session because she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to stay in a more serious mode.  Well, she pretty much nailed it!! I was so proud of her!  She’s my very first boudoir client, and we couldn’t have had more fun!! It was a blast taking these photos.  I love that they all stayed very tasteful, yet very sexy at the same time.   She even brought his hunting bow and Saints jersey to personalize a few even more.  The end product was a little black book (8×8) that we put together for her to give Ryan as a gift on their wedding day.   Luckily for me, she gave it to him during their first look, so I got to see his reaction.  I’m pretty sure he turned a little red!:) Needless to say it was unexpected, and he absolutely loved it!!  A success!

I’m really looking forward to doing more of these sessions in the future — message me if you’re interested!!

MADEMOISELLE J’S BOUDOIR SESSION

Jasmine is one of my dear friends, and when she found out that we were starting to do boudoir sessions, she jumped at the opportunity to give her groom a gift that he would never forget!  She actually gave it to him during their First Look too, so I got to see his reaction as his cheeks filled with a crimson color.  :)  It was perfect!  And needless to say he really enjoyed the book.  Jasmine’s session ended up turning into a boudoir party because her two sister’s also came along and wanted to have their own session to give their husbands a gift too.  It was a whole lot of fun!! We all had a blast!  Thanks ladies for letting me capture you at your best!
