A Bourbon Orleans Wedding will always be special to us since our own wedding reception was in the ballroom. I always get excited when we are returning for another wedding there. It’s always fun to see a new twist to the layout, or the way different colors look in there, and of course it’s awesome to see a packed dance floor!
We’ve enjoyed getting to know Kathryn and Patrick throughout their wedding journey. They both work for Southwest; we are grateful for the airlines tips and tricks advice they have given us. Actually, Patrick’s gift was from Kathryn was very unique. He received a pair of cuff links, but not just any pair, his were airplanes, Tiffany airplanes at that. Too cool!
Kathryn and Patrick are so laid back, genuine, and friendly. I could feel the excitement in the air in both of their rooms during prep time, both ready to start their next chapter together. They chose not to see each other before the wedding, but they did do a hand-hold photo around a corner, and get to hear each other’s voices before the ceremony. They’re adorable!
Their day went wonderfully! The sky was threatening rain towards the end of the formal photos — but thankfully, everyone made it inside St. Louis Cathedral before it showered. Kathryn and Patrick’s smiles as they recessed out the aisle were infectious! They were both grinning from ear to ear. When we got back to the Bourbon Orleans, it was party time. Papa C’s and the Slammin Horns kept the dance floor packed most of the night, especially the last half of the evening. The Kinfolk Brass Band helped them to wrap up the day as they led their guests from the ballroom through the streets of the French Quarter, and ending at The Gold Mine. It was a humid second line, but you could easily tell by looking around at the glistening faces that everyone had enjoyed themselves. The bride and groom quickly got swept up by the crowd, and they were inside in a flash to start part two of the celebrations.
Thank you for allowing us to tell your story! Enjoy!
