A Chicory Wedding is always intimate in a good old New Orleans kind of way. It has so much character built in. Michelle and Ray selected the Chicory for its blend of vintage, rustic, romantic charms accomplished by the gas lanterns, wood floors, and exposed brick. The couple was most looking forward to celebrating their love with their family and friends, and starting their lives together. What a wonderful place to begin the next chapter!
The locations were thoughtfully planned out and of sentimental importance to the couple. Michelle attends Immaculate Conception on a regular basis, so of course it made sense to have the wedding ceremony take place there. Ray proposed to Michelle at Audubon Park around Christmas time, so it was important that the formal photos be taken at the park. And I’ve already touched on why the Chicory became their preferred location for the reception. I love when there is a story or a reason behind the elements of a wedding. To me, what is already a very special occasion, becomes heightened to another level when there is other special significance.
Michelle and Ray are a great match! Ray loves her for her dedication to her students and her compassion for anyone that comes in contact with her. And Michelle loves him for his passion, drive and intelligence. Together they make each other laugh, and find time to enjoy the simple, fun things in life. Their ease with one another was certainly felt on the wedding day. The schedule of a wedding and the logistics can be a bit stressful, but I witnessed the two of them just melt into each others arms once they were able to see each other at the park. There’s nothing better than having a person that calms you and gets you without a word even needing to be spoken.
Thank you so much for allowing us to capture the memories of your wedding day. We hope you’ll enjoy these images for years to come! Enjoy!
