Rosy’s Jazz Hall Wedding | New Orleans Wedding Photographers | Kimberly and Josh

August 16, 2015

Rosy’s Jazz Hall in New Orleans has always been a venue that we’ve loved.  It’s one of those places that already has so much character built in, that there’s not much else you really have to do in way of decor.  Kimberly and Josh put just enough of their own touches on it to make it their day.  I thought their entry table was beautiful, as well as the red flowers.  I think the roses were one of my favorite touches.

I always tell myself that I want to sit down and write my thoughts about a wedding as soon as we get home.  But after a long 8-10 hour day the feet are usually throbbing and I find myself ready to hit the pillow.  However, all I have to do is look through the photos to remember so many of the moments.  This is when I know we are doing our job properly.  I always tell our couples that when they receive their albums they’ll be able to remember how they felt on their wedding day, and not simply how great they looked.  I suppose this is a bit of affirmation that we’re on the right track.

As I look through Kimberly and Josh’s photos from throughout the day, and those taken at Rosy’s Jazz Hall, I recall a day full of love and celebration.  Kimberly has a beautiful smile and spirit.  She has a very calming presence, yet I could feel her nervous excitement to see her soon to be husband.  And Josh, you could tell he’d do anything for Kimberly.  He was really funny, and definitely cut up at the reception and had a great time.

As I look through the photos that Doug selected for the blog, one of my favorites is the photo of the flower girl carrying Kimberly’s shoes.  She even stood in the shoes — it was adorable!  I also love the photo of Kimberly’s father praying over her just moments before she walked down the aisle.  Father/daughter photos always get me, but this was a very special moment for them.  I also love the photo of Kimberly’s mom nuzzled in beside her cheek right after Kimberly was finished getting ready.  I adore the photo of Kimberly and Josh embracing on the dance floor near the end of the night, and the celebratory hands in the air photo right after they said, “I do”.

Thank you for allowing us to capture all of your wedding day moments.  It was an honor to tell your story!  Enjoy!
