It feels like The Roosevelt has been our second home this year, as we just found ourselves there again recently to document Melissa and Thomas’ wedding festivities. And by festivities, I do mean one heck of a party! This was without a doubt one of those days where I found myself getting swept up in the moments and emotion right along with the bride and groom. It started when the bridesmaids decided to do some toasts during bridal prep. Each toast was so sweet and touching each in it’s own unique way. I don’t know how they didn’t all need makeup retouched after those!
As the day went on there were numerous other special moments. Melissa and Thomas’ first look was really sweet. And it was really special when Melissa’s dad gave her away at the front of the aisle. I believe he leaned in and said a few words to Thomas first. I always wish that I could hear what dad is saying, but you can always tell it’s special based on the look on the groom’s face and their body language.
It was a wonderful group of family and friends, everyone seemed very close. And they both had larger families too. I loved watching Melissa and her family on the dance floor. They had the best salsa-esque dance moves! If only I could get my hips to move like that! 🙂 I’m guessing maybe it was a great aunt that was trying to coach me a little — she was adorable, and definitely had the right moves. The energy in the ballroom was magnetic! I always enjoy when the parents get out on the dance floor. Both sets of parents spent a good amount of time on the dance floor dancing and living it up with their kids. I wish I could remember now which song it was… wait… I think it may have been “boots with the fur, get low” that Melissa’s dad was dancing to with her. It was hysterical and precious all at the same time.
Thank you for letting us be on this journey with you and document your story. Y’all are awesome! xoxo Enjoy!
