Louise and Calvin had a beautiful ceremony at New Orleans City Park Peristyle last month. Blue Gardenia Events, Arbor House Floral, and Firefly Ambiance had the Peristyle looking incredible! When we arrived to City Park for the couple’s first look, rain was certainly threatening to alter our plans. Luckily, mother nature decided to go easy on us. We decided to stay close enough to cover that we’d be able to keep our couple safe from the elements. Normally rain moves a ceremony indoors, but the size of the Peristyle allowed everyone to stay dry throughout the ceremony, and the skies didn’t really open up until right after the I do’s were said. At that point it was a bit romantic and cozy.
Once all of the photos were complete everyone headed to Il Mercato, a newer venue to the New Orleans wedding scene. Doug and I were excited to see the venue, as we had heard it was great. The way they decided to arrange the tables created a wonderful family-style flair to the atmosphere. I loved watching Calvin and Louise in the midst of their family and friends. It was apparent that they are both loved by their guests. The toasts had me tearing up behind the camera, and I loved their soulful first dance, completely lost in one another.
