Race and Religious Wedding | New Orleans | Jacqueline & Patrick

Race and Religious is like a playground for photographers!  There is so much texture, character, charm, and tucked away spots that can be all be used in the photos.  My brain is always on overload while we are there to make sure I pick the best elements for the couple that we are photographing.  As I look back through these images from a few weeks ago, I think we did a pretty good job of selecting the perfect parts for Jacqueline and Patrick.  The two met when they became neighbors and started hanging out.  They’ve still been neighbors right up until the wedding, but they’ll get to live even closer now.  🙂

This year the weather has threatened quite a few of our weddings, especially the outdoor ones.  It was no different on this day, but in usual fashion, Mother Nature decided to play nice and it cleared up by the time it was time to get the day rolling.  Jacqueline and Patrick were good sports about the puddles that were around and so we were able to create some great images.  We are always on the lookout for candid moments, and always debating the best time for us to leave the bride when going to the church.  Luckily I stayed behind and was able to ride with the bride and her mom and sister to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.  One of my favorite photos came during the time right before we got into the limo.  Jacqueline’s mom, sister, and mother-in-law were helping her get her bolero on, and I clicked the shutter knowing that was going to be one of my favorite photos.  I love the images that show a bride is loved, whether it be a special look from her groom, or an adoring look from a family member.  Those photos warm my heart.  As you look through their collection of images, I think you’ll find a few of those.

Thank you for letting us be a part of your day!  Enjoy!
